Laura Aull is an Associate Professor and Writing Program Director at the University of Michigan, and Shawna Shapiro is an Associate Professor at Middlebury College. This peer-reviewed article explores how rhetoric, linguistics, and writing intersect and diverge, overlap and interact through a series of three frequently asked questions: “What does linguistics add to rhetorical approaches to writing? What linguistics insights might be most useful for writing teachers and researchers? 的WAC Clearinghouse Fellowships, which are either six- or 12-month appointments, were generously funded by donors and were created to provide opportunities for new and early career scholars who are interested in expanding their editorial and administrative experience through involvement in one or more of ourpublishing venues.

Edited by Jack Morales and Lynn Reid, the special issue includes work by Annie S.
